Information on the Waste Battery Ordinance
In connection with the sale of batteries or rechargeable batteries, we are obliged as a dealer under the Battery Ordinance to inform our customers of the following: Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of properly. As a consumer, you are therefore legally obliged to return used batteries to a collection point or to return them to your local retailer free of charge. We also dispose of used batteries in the goods offered by us free of charge and in an environmentally friendly manner for you if they are returned to us by post with sufficient postage. Disposal via household waste is expressly prohibited. Batteries containing harmful substances are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin. Below this is the chemical symbol of the harmful heavy metal: Pb stands for lead, Cd for cadmium and Hg for mercury.
